Hi, I'm wondering if I can observe info here on Thesamba on at what speed I should change gears, from 1st to second, 2nd to 3rd, etc.. I know that it can be a subject to incline of the road, load and wind just if nosotros pretend that the road is perfectly horizontal, there's just the driver and no wind, at what speeds ca. should I change gears? I accept a 1300 67 Beetle with no rpm gauge. Thanks, Al. |

From the technical tab on Thesamba, a page from the 1967 Owner's Manual that tells you lot when to shift: _________________ Cardinal Jersey VW Gild Wanted: Art Collins VW (Savannah, Georgia) items - license plate surrounds and other items. Too ivory "AM", "FM" and "SW" buttons for a US Blaupunkt Frankfurt. |

Up to 55mph in 3RD GEAR!? At like 5,000rpm?! I recollect yous'd become deaf by that point. I'd be then scared to blow up my poor little engine at that speed. |

Did a 67 come stock with a 1300? I think it came with a 1500. Im not certain 55mph in tertiary gear would be skilful on my 1300. Information technology seems to strain at 40mph. My 1600 dp in the bus tin go into the 50mph range in third gear no problem. |

The Euro models still came with the 1300 engine in the first half of 67, the 1500 came in the later half. Al |

US '67 1500s had unlike gearing than before cars, as well. Shift pints woudl therefore non exist the aforementioned. I am guessing your 1300 would have the gearing from the '66 United states of america model, which was too a 1300. That manual says: |
